Electrical and Electronics Engineering Professor Ferit Acar Savaci and his Ph.D. student Areeb Ahmed have won the second place in the IEEE Turkey Communication Branch Best Student Paper Award at 26th IEEE Signal Processing and Communications Applications Conference (SIU 2018) with their study titled as “On Optimizing Fractional lower order Covariance based synchronization method for Random Communication systems”. SIU Conference is the most prominent scientific meeting on signal processing in Turkey bringing together researchers all over the world working in signal processing and communication fields. This year, there were 730 papers written by 1488 authors from 29 different countries. We congratulate Professor Acar and his student with their success.
