Our Student Participated Women in Engineering Programme

Our senior undergraduate student Aybüke Özçelik successfully completed the women in engineering (Sen Mühendissin: Bizimlesin) programme.

The aim of  the project is to encourage the younger generation women to work in research and development (R&D) department. According to data from Organization and Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), despite having the highest proportion of women studying in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields, Turkey has the lowest proportion of women working in this field.

In order to change this situation by creating awareness, three-day workshop was organized by a group of experts and Arçelik employees in a group of junior and senior year undergraduate students studying basic sciences and engineering.

The workshop included topics such as design thinking, agile, data analytics, big data which are main digital transformation and technology trends. After the workshop, a mentor employee was identified for each student and they have given the opportunity to make a project with his/her for a year.
