What is the Purpose of the Course?
The Supplementary Curricular Courses (SCC) allow our students to count supportive educational activities—such as certificate programs, online/in-person courses, digital platform training, national/international summer school courses, workshops, and seminars—as technical elective courses to support their registered undergraduate curriculum.
The primary objective of this course is to enable students to incorporate current skills aligned with their personal interests and interdisciplinary competencies into their undergraduate education.
Important Requirement: The activity to be counted must have a minimum duration of 42 hours and must differ significantly from the courses offered in the IZTECH undergraduate curricula.
How Does the Application Process Work?
You may take a maximum of 1 Supplementary Curricular Course throughout your undergraduate education. The process consists of the following steps:
- Preliminary Application (1 Month Before the Semester Begins)
- You must submit an application to your department along with a petition and official documentation detailing the content, duration, dates, and evaluation criteria (e.g., exams, projects) of the planned activity.
- Your application will be reviewed and decided upon by the departmental committee within 5 business days.
- Submission of the Completion Document (Add-Drop Week)
- You must submit the certificate/official document demonstrating successful completion of the approved activity to the departmental committee via a petition by the end of the Add-Drop week of the relevant semester.
- Assessment and Evaluation
- Beginning of Semester: Submission of an introductory statement detailing your intended learning objectives.
- End of Semester: Submission of a final report summarizing the acquired competencies, followed by an oral presentation.
